ACT Helpful Information

The ACT exam is another skills test that is used by various universities. It measures your knowledge in english, math, reading and science. There is also an optional writing test. The cost is $30 and you do need to register at least a month or so in advance.

Many colleges accept either this test or the SAT test. You will want to certainly plan on taking one or both of them in order to be able to complete most college admissions processes.

One other nice thing about this exam is that a lot of colleges will accept it instead of SAT Subject Tests. That means you only have to sit for one test if you take this test rather than the SAT and then subsequent SAT Subject Tests. Certainly something to consider as test fees can add up in a hurry!

Whichever exam you decide to take, or both, you will want to plan on investing a good amount of time to prepare. This really can make a difference in your score! There are some really good low cost and free resources available to help you, too.
